Accessibility Statement

CleanHavenly wants everyone to be able to read and use our recipes and guides — including people who use screen readers, keyboards, or other assistive technology. Accessibility is part of how we write, design, and publish, not an afterthought.

Our Commitment

We aim for our pages to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility.

That means we work to make sure:

  • Every content image has a descriptive text alternative (alt text) that says what the image shows, so screen reader users get the same information
  • Text is easy to read — dark text on light backgrounds, with colour combinations chosen for sufficient contrast
  • Pages have a clear structure — exactly one main heading per page, with logical subheadings, so screen readers and keyboard users can navigate by heading
  • Links describe where they go — we use descriptive link text, never “click here”
  • The site works by keyboard alone — menus, forms, and links can be reached and used without a mouse
  • Information is never carried by colour alone — where a recipe mentions a colour change, we describe it in words too
  • Forms are labelled clearly — every field on our contact form has a visible label
  • Nothing flashes or moves in a way that could cause discomfort

What We Already Do

  • Unique, descriptive alt text on every content image, as required by our own Editorial Standards
  • A clean, simple layout with generous spacing and readable font sizes, which you can also resize in your browser
  • A consistent header, navigation, and footer on every page, so you always know where you are
  • A search bar on the homepage, so you can find a guide without browsing through menus

Known Limitations

CleanHavenly is a new site, founded in 2026, and we are still improving. We want to be honest about what is not perfect yet:

  • Third-party content is outside our control. Display advertising, social media embeds, and any embedded videos we add in future may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We cannot fix content served by other companies, but we will reconsider any embed that causes a serious problem.
  • We have not yet had a formal third-party accessibility audit. We test with keyboard navigation and common screen readers ourselves, but an independent audit is something we plan to do as the site grows.
  • Decorative images use empty alt text. This is deliberate — it tells screen readers to skip them — but if a decorative image ever carries information it should not, please tell us.
  • Older pages may lag behind. When we update a page, we check its accessibility at the same time, but a page published earlier may not yet reflect our newest improvements.

If you find a barrier we have missed, we would genuinely like to know — see below.

Reporting an Accessibility Problem

If you cannot access something on CleanHavenly, or if any part of the site is hard for you to use, please email us at hello@cleanhavenly.com. There is no phone number for CleanHavenly — email is the fastest way to reach us.

To help us fix the problem quickly, please include:

  • The address (URL) of the page where you had trouble
  • What you were trying to do
  • What went wrong — for example, a button you could not reach, text you could not read, or an image with no description
  • The device, browser, and assistive technology you were using, if you know them

We read every message. We will do our best to fix the problem and to reply promptly. If we cannot fix something right away, we will tell you what we are doing about it and offer another way to get the information you need — for example, by emailing you the text of a recipe.

Compatibility

CleanHavenly is designed to work with current versions of major browsers and with common assistive technology. Older browsers may not support every feature, so if something does not work, please try a current browser first — and tell us if the problem remains.

Reviewing This Statement

We review accessibility whenever we publish new pages, change the design, or add a new feature. This statement is reviewed regularly and updated when our approach or our known limitations change.

If you have any other question about CleanHavenly, you can reach us through the Contact page or by email at hello@cleanhavenly.com, and read more about how we work on the About page.
